2009.

As I am typing this post, I have this undescriable feeling.
something like.. a tinge of disappointment.
(don't ask me why, melvyn feels the same way too :[ )

wanted to do a short post, but after bloghopping, I guess I shall be nice and do a longer one.

I remembering listening to the top 100 songs of 2008 on 98.7fm on this day, just last year.
The concept of a new year didn't sink in until just now when I received Seraphyn's sms asking me to tune into 98.7 for top 100.

so I'm feeling kinda jaded now.

I have no comments for the year 2009.
It wasn't as good as 2008, neither was it as ruined as 2007.
so I'll just happily assume that its a peaceful year :)

This year marked a year of change.
The year I become 16, The year which changed the way I think.
The year that changed my writing style, the year which I kinda got a little taste of reality and grew up a little bit.

Things may not have been all smooth sailing, just like how life isn't a bed of roses and all but still, I'm thankful for a few things :)

Things to be thankful for this year?

1) Teachers.
This very special group of people have made an extreme impact on my life.

2) Friends.
You all are the ones who went through a lot of bullshit with me.
Without you I may be more of a wreck than I am now, so thank you all for 'damage control' :)

3) 48th.
I'm very thankful for these guys.
Without them I wouldn't be who I am today.

4) Setbacks.
Lessons learnt will forever have an impact on my life.
From Physics SPA's gradient to mistakes other people make, I've learnt a lot.

5) Music.
My best friends when I'm alone.
I have a new defination of good music now.

& of course, you, you and you! :D

so, with advent of a new decade, I guess our new year resolutions must be extra special.
didn't have a habit of making them until you know, last year.
2009 changed me alot, just like how 2007 and 2008 did.
so I guess I'll learn the mistakes I comitted and make my new year resolutions from there.

I mellowed out a lot. (haha yes admit it, I'm no longer angsty.)

so, in no order of importance:

1) I must not underestimate the power of emotions.

2) I should stop being all stern and serious, because its bad for my health. (though i really see the need to be like that)

3) I should stop being so defensive of myself. (yes that should have been a resolution since many years ago)

4) I should stop thinking that much, alot of white hair already.

5) I need to be happy, there's alot of bullshit out there for me to face.

6) Grow closer to God. I keep telling myself that I have to do this and that but its not working, so I guess I'll have to do something else about it.

7) *a very private resoltuion*

8) Be more disciplined (this includes reducing the use of vulgarities tyvm) and help someone out when they really need it.

9) Have a better memory (and start remembering birthdays)

10) Be more confident and sincere, stop being so hypocritical and stand up for what I think is right.

11) Stop taking everything for granted. (I don't know how to go about this one but I guess I'll figure it out somehow)

11 resolutions for a better 2010!

Anyway, I have a lot of things on hand.
Letters that I promised myself to write, and you know, stuff like that.

I should stop sending New Year Smses because they jam the lines.
Just be a nicer person.
Everyone will appreciate it.

so anyway,
Happy New Year.

Have I finished well this year?

"You should take a look at your faces"

Yes, I'm not going to quote the already famous "I see you" line.

So, Watched Avatar 3D with sis and Nyap today.
Cineleisure @ Suntec. or was it Marina? (oh whatever.)
YES ITS 3D! MY FIRST 3D MOVIE!(no, actually its more of 2.5D. really.)
It was boom, POW, BANG!
I really jumped because I thought the rock was going to fly out or something.
(yeah only that part then 3D)

So the effects were good, story line fabulous, dialouges inspirational.
the only drawback was that the angmoh they speak sibei chim i really couldn't catch no ball at the start. zzz.

oh yeah. saw terrance ong and weixiang there.
and we were watching the same show! haha.

the airplane pilot really didn't deserve to die D:

I could really relate to the main character. (I forgot his name. oops. oh yes his name was... Jake.)
You know, have your life screwed up by something, get your hopes high, and everything just falls apart and back to the way it was.

Yes I was so excited after the movie.
You know, like a dream. (eh its my first movie for a very long time kay)
then I walked out of the cinema and saw Marina Square and I was like "oh shit I'm not Avatar."

oh. I thought Marina Square is at Marina Bay. HAHA. (okay nt funny)
but you know the names of places are very confusing ):

Orchard Road very nice.
must visit it sometime.

anyway it is really fab.
anyone who havn't watched it must watch it!

its 2000x nicer than harry potter (scam money. I admit it though I'm a fan.) and it is definitely better than Narnia: Prince Caspian. (only a bit better. cause I really liked that Narnia Movie)
I liked the creatures alot. they're very cool.
*adds it to Favourite Movies*

okay enough bullshitting myself.

oh and I figured out how the 3D glasses work.
go ask Mrs Ngiam about it.

Dinner at hotpot culture.
waste money lol seriously.
alot APNN and AT there. (inside joke. and I'm not racist mind you.)

oh did I mention this?
I really respect indians alot.
especially the elder ones.
they're like so well mannered and stuff.

I really despise the ah bengs though.

My mum wants me to cut my hair.
sian. okay I cut botak. you better SEE me.

I want to watch "Bodyguards and Assasins"!
and "Sherlock Holmes" also!
Why do all the nice movies come out when I have the time but not the money.
walaooooo.
And I head that "Bodyguards and Assasins" is a very sad movie ):
Nationalism FTW.

oh and I'm now watching this 连戏剧 called 《宮廷畫師郎世寧》
Its about this italian guy called Giuseppe Castiglione.
okay its really china much but I think its very interesting.
a lot on selective assimilation and stuff.
having full History background really benefits me.

oh well I 老古董 what.

okay I very tired.
go sleep.

tmr cut hair.
die.

I'm so tired.

Didn't celebrate Christmas this year.

I keep telling everyone that I'm tired and I'm sad.
But I don't know what I'm tired of, neither do I know what I'm sad about.

I've got photos from a long time ago.
another day maybe.

16th.

"I have a memory. It wasn't exactly happy, But its the best I have."
-Harry Potter

okay. So I'm actually 16 now.
I'm not going to rant on about what I think but neither am I going to write about how happy my birthday was, because it wasn't exactly joyous.

Today. I was fortunate to have a family that is happy for me, though they don't say it, and some friends to accompany me. But while the outing itself is perfectly fine, I'm feeling a little crestfallen about how it came about.

-a fellow december baby.

I feel the same way.
You know, you don't live your life just to look back one day.
You don't celebrate for the sake of remembering it, right?

so what if you're 16? so what if you're 21?
At the end of the day will it ever matter?
I don't really think that there's a need for a grand celebration.
Not someone who likes grand occasions.

I'm not jumping for joy, but neither am I bitching about my life. But regardless of how I feel I really am grateful to the people who wished me a happy birthday and especially those who spent time with me. Really.

Thank You to those who offered me their "blessings"! :D
For those who forgot, don't worry.
Even though 16 comes only once in a lifetime, there's always 17 :)

Primary School friends, Classmates, peeps from other schools, CCAmates.
Close friends, Acquaintances.
And even those who I never expected to remember.
Thank You :)

You too :)

I should start remembering birthdays too.

Anyway, I'm very displeased with the school management committee but its alright.
Teachers I know its not your fault.
3 more years, hang on there.
I know everyone is tired but all I can say is "hang on there", the days will get better.
shall not touch on this topic.

So let me summarise my day yesterday:

my day started at 1pm. very sleepy.

makan at this placed called cafe something. can't remember the name.
the food was okay.
Good food once in a while won't hurt, but still... ):

Why do people dream about becoming famous and dirty rich when there're people out there who are struggling to make end's meets.
of course I do want to be rich, but you know, but its the kind of rich where I can live a comfortable life and have the ability to help others.

soccer with zihui, chinhow, jiajun, shinwei, kenan, Sihan, and the boys who are 5 years older than me.
Michael Long, Terrence, Jeremy (Yeo), Jeffery and Raman.

Chinhow super lame.
injure hand then make me be keeper.
know I scared of ball right. kns. =.=
and I knew something was going to happen.

I flinched everytime they tried to score a goal.
scary much.

Michael was attacking.
Then the middle CHINHOW NEVER DEFEND. (walao eh dun know what he doing sia)
Then Michael is first class sniper lah zz.
I was in the middle of the goal post.
Then Michael kicked the ball.

gonecase.
Not everyone gets a kick in the balls on their 16th birthday.

Anyway its the one and only ball I saved.

Michael was like "Great Save!" Haha very funny.
Zihui went "Happy Birthday LimPin!"

it was quite epic.
and I almost saw stars.

Nevertheless I'm very thankful for their presence.
I'm really thankful for 48th.
Maybe I won't become a primer, but I'll defenitely go back, visit and maybe help out when I have the time.

I don't think I'll regret signing up as a sec one facilitator too.
I'll make an impact on the lives of those who are 5 years younger, just like how these guys changed me.

I realised that I have my fair share of happy memories as well.
I had a childhood that I think not many people had.
Its just that I keep hanging on the the bullshit everyone throws at me and I let slip of these memories.

I was listening to the songs on my handphone that day and I realised that I could remember where each song come from.
Who sent me those songs, who where or how I got it.
Maybe someday I'll share my story with someone.

This is how I got my new url.

Anyway, I remember four years ago on my birthday, I was posted to Zhonghua Secondary School.
I'll remember this gift.

Things will work out for me, the way it did these four years.

Like, I never demanded to fly, but at the back of my mind I was hoping that at the very least, I wouldn't need to crawl on this day, and just feel the ease and comfort of walking normally.

Happy Belated,

Limpin.
